It was at 23 o'clock on Friday that the fire started in the grocery store located in the shopping area Knalleland, just north of Borås.

The fire turned out to be difficult to extinguish.

- I would say that it is a combination of the large surfaces and the large volumes of combustible material, says Bo Sandström.

A so-called VMA, an important message to the public, went out due to the heavy smoke, and residents nearby were urged to stay indoors with closed windows and ventilation.

About a day after the fire started, at 11 pm on Sunday, the VMA could be lifted.

Suspected arson

It is still cordoned off around the property and as soon as possible the police will investigate the place to try to find out how the fire started.

The incident is being investigated for the time being as a murder fire.

On Sunday, firefighting and control are now waiting for the rescue service.

Early in the morning, two more units remained at the site.

- We will probably have some form of activity on site for large parts of the day, says Bo Sandström.

No one was injured in the fire.

Below you can see a clip from what it looked like on the site during the night between Friday and Saturday.
