This is how the labor market and business life in Västmanland feel: "We are starting to see a recovery"

During the pandemic, the number of people covered by the warning has increased.

In Västmanland, a total of 1,580 people were notified of termination in 2020 - which is almost 600 more than in 2019. The number of notices has been at a high level also in 2021. A total of 721 people have been notified of termination during the year, of which 129 so far in May.

The differences in unemployment are large across the country. Västerbotten, for example, has Sweden's lowest unemployment rate at just over six per cent. In Västmanland, however, unemployment amounted to just over 10 per cent of the labor force in April. Compared with April last year, unemployment has increased by 790 people.
