China News Service, May 19. According to a report compiled by Thailand’s World Journal, the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic has delayed the opening day of schools at all levels in Thailand.

The Ministry of Education of Thailand stated that the new semester will be postponed until the start of school on June 14. Schools in the four provinces that implement the most stringent control of the epidemic will use online teaching.

The new semester was originally scheduled to start on May 17, but due to concerns about the worsening of the epidemic, the Ministry of Education announced at the end of April that the school day was postponed to June 1.

The decision will be postponed for another two weeks, and school will not start until June 14.

According to a report by Xiannews.com, the Minister of Education, Ms. Drinu, pointed out on the 18th local time that the Ministry of Education has notified the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic Management Center of this decision and obtained approval. The start date of the new semester of the 2021 school year will be postponed to June 1. June 14.

The Ministry of Education stated that due to the continuing spread of the epidemic, it has not yet eased. In order to protect the health and safety of students, teachers and staff from the risk of infection, the school day has been postponed again.

In this way, teachers and staff can also have more time to vaccinate.

Drinou said that if schools and educational institutions in the red zone and orange zone still want to start school on June 1, they must first apply for the “Thai Stop COVID Plus” assessment system of the Ministry of Health and pass all 44 assessment items. The results are then reported to the Provincial Infectious Disease Committee, which will determine whether each school or educational institution can start classes before June 14.

She said that the epidemic management center has loosened some control measures since the 17th, opened some buildings and buildings for teaching use, and has clear regulations on the number of participants.

The most stringent control is implemented in the Crimson-affected area, including Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan, where schools in the four provinces can only use online teaching if they want to teach.

In addition, although the start dates of each school are different, the first semester of 2021 will end on October 15th.
