The schoolchildren of Saint-Etienne were on their way for a school trip to Valence when the collision occurred.

At around 11 a.m. this Wednesday morning, three people were injured in an accident on the A47 at Givors (Rhône) involving a school bus and two trucks, reports

Le Progrès.

For some reason, when arriving at the Givors swimming pool, the bus struck the rear of a heavy vehicle which, in the shock, itself struck the rear of a truck driving in front of it.

The bus driver was injured, as was a school attendant, who had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Multiple traffic jams on the A47

A 15-year-old college girl was also taken to hospital in serious condition, but her life would not be threatened, according to the regional daily.

This midday, the college students present in the bus were taken care of in Givors while the college could organize their return to Saint-Etienne.

This accident generated multiple traffic jams on the A47 towards Lyon.
