Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) is preparing for a declining willingness to vaccinate and is betting on being able to induce as many people as possible at work to be immunized against Covid-19.

“We will soon reach a phase in which we have to convince those for whom the path to the doctor or the vaccination center is too far.

That is why we are going to involve the company doctors from June 7th, ”said Spahn of the FAZ. The more doctors involved, the faster the vaccination campaign runs.

"Opportunity makes vaccination," said Spahn.

The expansion to as many medical professionals as possible is also served by the new vaccination ordinance, which Spahn entered into the coordination of the other ministries on Tuesday and which is available to the FAZ.

The procedure should be completed on Thursday so that the regulation can come into force on June 7th.

On that day, according to the new regulations, vaccination prioritization in medical practices and vaccination centers throughout Germany will no longer apply.

Literally it says in the draft bill: "A right to a vaccination against the coronavirus SARS-Cov-2 exists with the lifting of the prioritization from June 7, 2021 for all persons."

In addition to private doctors, company doctors will also be able to administer the injections in the future. There is also a new "Handout Company Doctors on Vaccines and Accessories" from the employers' association BDA, which is also available in this newspaper. The time constraints are ambitious: company doctors who want to be there in the first week of vaccination, which begins on June 7th, have to order their contingents in the pharmacies on Friday, May 21st, by twelve o'clock.

Quantities are limited and only the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine will initially be available.

Every company doctor can order a maximum of 804 doses for the first week of vaccination - calendar week 23.

The handout indicates, however, that in view of the continuing shortage of the preparations, the medical professionals will probably receive less than they order.

How much can actually be delivered will be decided next week.

In the time after that, the quantities and brands could change, it says in the paper.

Allocation according to medical professionals and not according to company size is intended to ensure fair distribution so that corporations are not given preference over medium-sized companies.

However, large companies usually also have several company doctors.

Another new feature of the amended Vaccination Ordinance is that the federal government will replace all expenses incurred due to the Coronavirus Vaccination Ordinance this year; on the one hand the liquidity reserve of the health fund of the statutory health insurance, on the other hand the private health insurance company. The draft puts the additional burdens on the federal budget at 1.4 billion euros. Statutory health insurance will be relieved of 1.3 billion euros, while private insurance will reduce the burden by 0.1 billion.
