The Israeli occupation army announced that it had intercepted two rockets fired from southern Lebanon and that two others landed in uninhabited areas, and said that it had bombed the source of their launch, in conjunction with the continuation of the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the rockets that were launched towards northern Israel came from the coast of Tire, southern Lebanon, while Israeli artillery bombed the area from which the rockets were launched.

Israeli media reported that the municipality of Nahariya, in northern Israel, is preparing to open shelters.

The source said that the rockets were fired from the vicinity of the village of Siddiqin in the Tire region.

No one has claimed responsibility for its launch, in an incident that is the third of its kind in less than a week.

The "UNIFIL" forces stated that the bombing in southern Lebanon had stopped, and that its members and the Lebanese army were evaluating the situation on the ground, explaining that the commander of the international forces was communicating with all parties to exercise restraint.

Resistance missiles

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced the bombing of the land "Taslim" and "Hatzerim" air bases in southern Israel with bursts of rockets.

The Resistance also fired missiles towards Ashkelon, Ashdod, and other areas adjacent to Gaza, and Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that a missile was launched at Sderot, Nir Amin, Natef Ha'asara and Erez.

A fire broke out in an area where a missile fell on the main road between Ashdod and Ashkelon, and Israeli media said that firefighters are working in all sectors to control the fires caused by the missiles.

On Wednesday morning, the Israeli occupation army confirmed that it carried out last night the fifth phase of its aggression on the Gaza Strip, and said that 52 warplanes carried out 122 raids on the Strip within 25 minutes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that about 4,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel.

Al-Jazeera correspondent talked about heavy Israeli artillery shelling on Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip, and said that the Israeli bombardment today destroyed 5 homes in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

Targeting civilians

Human rights sources criticized the Israeli army’s targeting in its raids and artillery shelling of civilian homes, residential towers, and media institutions, in addition to the streets and infrastructure in the Strip.

Al-Jazeera correspondent talked about the increase in the number of martyrs in the bombing of a house in Deir al-Balah to 4, including a child and a woman, and confirmed the death of a farmer as a result of artillery shelling targeting the Juhr al-Dik area, southeast of Gaza.

Since dawn today, Israeli warplanes destroyed 4 homes and a charitable association building in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, in addition to bombing Palestinian resistance sites and agricultural lands.

The total number of victims of the Israeli bombardment on the Strip rose to more than 219 martyrs, including 63 children, 36 women and 16 elderly, in addition to more than 1500 wounded, 50 of them seriously wounded.

The Israeli army spokesman, Brigadier General Heidi Zilberman, admitted that Israel twice tried to liquidate Muhammad al-Deif, the leader of the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas during this aggression, and failed, and its attempts to liquidate 7 other leaders of the movement were unsuccessful.

Earlier, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that Israel had told the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) that it had destroyed the Al-Galaa Tower - which houses the Al Jazeera network office - because Hamas used it to interfere with navigation.
