In response to this, the government will provide 50,000 yen per child to child-rearing households with parents who are exempt from residence tax in order to support people who are having difficulty living due to the effects of the new coronavirus. Payment of benefits is expected to begin in some local governments as early as late June, and with this designation, out of the approximately 1.3 million households eligible for payment, accounts for receiving child allowances are registered with local governments.
