Samir Mansour’s library and its books have become under the rubble following the Israeli bombardment of the Kahil building in the Thirty Street in Gaza. “The library that smiled to passers-by and readers and was loved by everyone, has become a trace after an eye,” according to the words of those in charge of it on its social media pages.

The Israeli occupation is destroying the source of culture and the largest publishing house in the Gaza Strip.

Not far from Samir Mansour Library for Printing and Publishing, the Israeli bombing targeted the Iqra, Vision, and Renaissance libraries, and destroyed a number of cultural centers, namely the Ummah Forum for Development, Palestinian Talent Centers, Basma for Culture and Arts, and Nafha, in addition to destroying a large number of specialized centers in the fields of Science, research and training, and media and artistic production companies, according to a statement by the General Authority for Youth and Culture in Gaza.

All that we love, the missiles devoured! .. Today they destroyed the "Samir Mansour" and "Iqra" libraries in a raid on western Gaza.

The commission denounced "the heinous crimes that the Zionist occupation forces are practicing for the tenth day in a row against the Palestinian people in Gaza, and their deliberate targeting of cultural facilities."

The commission said in a statement, "This continuous aggression and targeting safe houses and centers of science and culture is clear evidence of the barbarity of this occupation, which does not observe any civilizational or cultural values, and it is evidence of a malevolent racist mentality that has nothing to do with civilized and human values."

What's left to you

The novel of the literary martyr Ghassan Kanafani survived the Zionist bombing of the Samir Mansour library @samirbookshop in # Gaza. The novel carries its message.

The Commission called on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Arab Organization for Culture and Science (ALECSO) and all Arab and international organizations to urgently intervene to curb the occupation and stop its crimes against the Palestinian people and its continuous attacks on the Palestinian cultural heritage.

Evil state, #Israel is not attacking the fighters in # Gaza. It is attacking the people and their very basic infrastructure for life. The UN predicted the strip would be unliveable in 2020. Israel is making sure it is unliveable in 2021 & is wiping out entire families & the memories https://t.co/vkPd8tSFQe

The most memorable place I have is the library and architecture, I would not buy my novels other than them. May God reward you. Every place has a sweet memory in which you go 💔💔💔 https://t.co/DYEpxAHEi3
