Data show that at 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Beijing was 21.893 million, which is an increase of 2.281 million in ten years compared with 19.612 million in 2010 (the data of the sixth national census, the same below). An average annual increase of 228,000 people, an average annual increase of 1.1%.

This is 2.7 percentage points lower than the average annual growth rate of 3.8% from 2000 to 2010.

The data shows that the growth of Beijing's permanent population has slowed down.

  Among the permanent population, 8.418 million people from other provinces and cities came to Beijing, accounting for 38.5% of the permanent population.

Compared with 2010, an increase of 1.373 million people, an increase of 19.5%, an average annual increase of 1.8%, the proportion of permanent residents increased by 2.6 percentage points.
