RFE / RL's chief accountant left Russia and moved to Prague, where the radio station's head office is based, the source said.

Also, according to him, the editor-in-chief of the Moscow bureau, Evgenia Nazarets, is now in the capital of the Czech Republic.

“Thus, Radio Liberty secured the management of the radio station from meetings with law enforcement agencies,” the interlocutor of RT explained.

According to SPARK-Interfax, the company's Moscow office has 44 employees.

However, according to an RT source, now about half of the staff work in the office - the rest moved to Prague and Kiev about a month ago.

"The management of the radio station is not sure that it will be able to pay salaries to workers on time due to the blocking of accounts by bailiffs," a source told RT.

On May 14, bailiffs came to the Moscow media office on Malaya Dmitrovka with a notice of initiation of enforcement proceedings.

According to Roskomnadzor, 20 court rulings have entered into force against RFE / RL LLC on prosecution for failure to comply with the requirements of the law on labeling foreign media outlets.

The total amount of fines for them is 5.5 million rubles.

In total, from January to May 2021, Roskomnadzor sent 520 protocols to the court on violation of the new rules for marking publications by RFE / RL projects.

The amount of fines for them is approximately 70 million rubles.

Earlier it became known that the Moscow bureau of Radio Liberty is threatened with bankruptcy.

RT sent a request to RFE / RL with questions about the possible non-payment of wages to employees and about the departure of the chief accountant from Russia.

No response had been received at the time of publication.
