The man, who is in his 80s, was last seen at 9 pm on Friday outside his home in Bergsåker west of Sundsvall.

Since then, he has been missing without a trace.

The man has been wanted throughout the weekend and also on Monday by police and dog handlers, mountain rescuers, the Home Guard and Missing People.

Residents in the area were urged to search garages, storage and other types of buildings.

But the search for the man has been fruitless.

In the future, the disappearance of the Police Area Västernorrland will be handled and certain search activity can continue to take place in the area.

Many volunteers have participated in the search and the police, who led the effort, send a big thank you via their website to everyone who helped.
