This merger between the first two French free television groups aims to face fierce competition from streaming platforms like Disney or Netflix.

But not only ;

the aim is also to make synergy savings, in the order of 250 to 350 million euros per year, at least for the first three years after the merger.

The merger will create a giant of French television with an annual turnover of 3 billion 400 million euros.

The new entity, which will bring together 10 channels, will even exceed the public France television group with more than 30% of audience share.

The newborn will also be a major player in the media advertising sector as it will represent three quarters of the market share in France.

But this merger operation, which has not yet been concluded, will still have to meet numerous regulatory constraints such as that of specific media anti-concentration surveillance.

The procedure could last 18 months.
