As the Israeli army's air strikes targeting the bases of armed groups continue in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, Japanese NGOs supporting Palestine have expressed a sense of crisis that many citizens have been sacrificed, and the Japanese government has been urgently aware of it. We are calling for diplomatic efforts for an early ceasefire.

On the 18th, we met online with four organizations that support health, education, and vocational training in Palestine, including the Gaza Strip, such as the JVC = Japan International Volunteer Center and the Palestinian Children's Campaign.

Among them, Mariko Kimura, the representative of JVC Jerusalem office stationed in the field, explained the current situation where many children were involved in this airstrike and lost their lives.

On top of that, Kimura said, "When I go to the Gaza Strip, I think that the people who always welcome me with a smile are now spending the next moment in the war, scared that they may die. We must do what we can, "he said, revealing that he had submitted a statement to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with 11 organizations.

The statement calls for diplomatic efforts, such as the Japanese government's strong support for the US ceasefire in order to immediately stop Israeli airstrikes.
