"Deputies of the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill that prohibits the participation in the elections to the State Duma leaders, members or those who financed extremist or terrorist organizations recognized as such by a court decision," the statement follows.

Vasily Piskarev, co-author of the project, Chairman of the Commission for Investigating the Facts of Foreign Interference in the Internal Affairs of Russia, Vasily Piskarev, explained that the founders and leaders of such organizations will not be able to participate in elections for five years, and ordinary participants - for three years from the date of entry into force of the court decision on the prohibition of the activities of this organization.

Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Control and Regulation proposed to adopt this bill in the first reading.
