A white march for Sabri on Saturday

Many fireworks mortar fire targeted the security forces deployed on the spot, without injuring, said a police source.

This episode of tension takes place in the Val d'Argent, a vast working-class district regularly the scene of urban violence, in this city located north-west of Paris.

It is in this city that resided Sabri, who died a year ago to the day on May 17, 2020, without any link being established at this stage between this tragedy and the violence.

The 18-year-old died in a motorcycle accident near a police car in a nearby neighborhood.

The investigation was closed, the investigations confirming "the absence of intervention by a third party in the accident", according to the Pontoise prosecutor's office.

His relatives remain convinced that the Bac (anti-crime brigade) bears responsibility for the accident and have requested the opening of a judicial investigation.

A white march in his memory is also scheduled for Saturday.
