Prime Minister Suga had a telephone conversation with Vietnam's Prime Minister Chin, who took office last month, and agreed to further develop bilateral relations toward the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

The telephone talk was held at the request of the Vietnamese side, and Prime Minister Suga congratulated Prime Minister Chin on his inauguration and paid tribute to his efforts to develop relations between the two countries as the chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship League with Japan.
