In detail, the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Sharjah Police, Lieutenant Colonel Majed Al-Asam, said that the department had received confirmed information that an attempt was made to bring a large amount of narcotic substances into the country through the territorial waters, within the jurisdiction of the Emirate of Sharjah, and accordingly several teams of specialists were formed to control these toxins. He refuted the smuggling process, and arrested the formation personnel involved in this case, in coordination and cooperation with the Marine Facilities and Coastal Protection Agency, and a number of concerned authorities; In order to abort that process and prevent these toxins from entering the country. He added that those efforts culminated in the seizure of 115 kilograms and 267 grams of narcotic substances, 51 thousand and 790 narcotic tablets, in addition to the arrest of the seven members of the formation after following their movements and monitoring their whereabouts in a number of the state's emirates.

Al-Asam explained that that gang formation, whose members tried to introduce these toxins into the country during the days of Eid al-Fitr, thought that the festive period was a favorable opportunity and time for the introduction of these narcotic substances without being monitored by the eyes of the police, pointing out that the police forces had them.
