It will take place from July 3 to September 12 and will celebrate its 10th anniversary!

Le Voyage à Nantes unveiled the program for its summer event on Monday.

About sixty stages are offered along the green line and like every year, the most spectacular novelties can be found in the city's main squares.

After the enormous success of the waterfall arranged by the artist Stéphane Thidet last year, another monumental proposal will take place for two months at Place Graslin. A round rollerblading track (38 m in diameter) will be installed in the center of the square. Designed by the Titan agency, it can be "freely used by roller skating and roller skating enthusiasts" (but not by skaters). It will be surrounded by a ring and steps allowing the public to sit down while enjoying the show. Traffic will be suspended for the occasion, the fountain will also be covered.

Place Royale, the atmosphere will be more contemplative since it is a "shipwreck" that will be represented on the fountain.

"This stranded boat will ooze on all sides since the fountain will continue to operate," explains Le Voyage à Nantes.

The creation, signed by sculptor Ugo Schiavi, specialist in diversion, will be "quite impressive" with its 17m long and its 7.50m high.

It will be completed by a bust of the god Neptune, to be discovered on a bank near the Schoelcher footbridge, “as if he had been expelled during the shipwreck”.

Restyled trams, fanciful characters, smells ...

Near the Bretagne tower, along tram line 3, the artist Laurent Le Deunff will seize the vestige of the Porte Sauvetout.

This old medieval walled tower dating from the 13th century will be surmounted by an improbable bronze beaver, itself perched on a real tree trunk.

In the rest of the city, the public will also be able to discover a surprising textile work adorning the Passage Sainte-Croix, three monumental and fanciful characters in the Jardin des Plantes, revamped trams on lines 1 and 2, or even organic installations and fragrant at the Temple of Taste.

Without forgetting many exhibitions adapted to the event (Hab Galerie, castle of the dukes, art museum, unique place, museum, media library…).

The perfume vote will take place

In addition, after a postponement last year, the general public will finally be invited to vote for the future "perfume of Nantes", that is to say the one that best represents the idea we have of. the City of the Dukes.

Choose from three proposals from professional perfumers.

From June 13 to August 20 at the castle of the Dukes of Brittany.

The chosen fragrance will be marketed at the end of 2021.

Last year, given the coronavirus epidemic, the 2020 edition of Voyage à Nantes did not start until August and ended at the end of September.

Apart from this delay and health precautions, the event had proceeded normally.

Attendance, penalized by the lack of foreign tourists, had however been lower than in previous years, despite a resurgence of French visitors.
