The Associated Press's editor-in-chief called for an independent investigation after Israeli air strikes bombed a building in Gaza.

AP editor-in-chief Sally Buzzby said in an interview with CNN on the 16th that he has been in the building for 15 years, but has not heard of the Palestinian armed party Hamas in the building.

"We don't take a stand in the context of conflict. Israel says there is evidence, but we don't know what evidence it is," he said. "I think an independent investigation is appropriate at this point."

The day before, Israeli troops destroyed the building in Gaza, where the Associated Press and Al Jazeera Broadcasting and other media companies were occupied by bombing.

The Israeli side warned of evacuation an hour before the air raid and claims that Hamas-related organizations were in the presence.
