On May 17, local time, according to local media reports, the latest data from the Department of Corrections and Corrections of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand showed that the results of the new coronavirus screening in multiple prisons and labor camps from May 12 to 16 showed that there were 8 prisons in Thailand. A total of 9,783 prisoners were diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.

  The eight prisons are: Chiang Mai Central Prison, Bangkok Special Prison, Bangkok Central Women’s Prison, Bangkok Kongbian Central Prison, Thonburi Special Prison, Bangkok Central Special Labor Camp, Chachoengsao Central Prison and Nonthaburi Prison.

Among them, Chiang Mai Central Prison has the largest number of confirmed cases, with a total of 3929 diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia out of 6,469 inmates.
