The Egyptian Doctors Syndicate has drawn attention in the last few days thanks to the series of efforts it is making to support the Palestinian people in the face of the continuous attacks by the Israeli occupation, which began in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, and developed into brutal bombing targeting the Palestinian city of Gaza.

The Syndicate announced, through its official page, the opening of the door for doctors to volunteer to treat the Palestinian injured, and the work of convoys of support with supplies and medicines through the "Egypt Cares" committee.

The Secretary General of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, Osama Abdel Hay, confirmed that 1,200 doctors had registered their data on the Syndicate's website to work as volunteers in treating the injured in the Gaza Strip, until Saturday evening, adding that a list of the names of doctors who expressed their desire to volunteer to travel to Gaza will be prepared, then coordination With the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send a list of volunteers according to the needs and required specialization, accompanied by all their data and passport photos to facilitate the process.

On the other hand, the Syndicate announced the opening of donations for citizens to support the needs of hospitals in Gaza, and it contacted the external relations official in the Department of Health Affairs in Gaza, who sent a list of the needs of medicines and supplies, which will be funded through donations.

The Syndicate also announced coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent, which announced a similar donation campaign on its official page, to bring aid into Gaza, in an arrangement with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Friday, the Syndicate issued a statement denouncing "Israel's criminal and brutal attacks on the Palestinian people by targeting the residents of Gaza with successive raids," which caused a large number of martyrs, including children and women, except for the injured.

In its statement, the Syndicate called on the international community to stand up to stop the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people and support them against those who try to displace them, plunder what remained of their land, and submit the aggressors to the International Criminal Court.

Today, Sunday, the Egyptian authorities announced the opening of the crossing exceptionally in solidarity with the Palestinian people to receive the injured and other humanitarian cases.

A medical source stated that Egypt has so far sent 16 ambulances to Gaza to transport the injured from the Israeli bombing.

To receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals, the source added that a bus carrying 95 people had already arrived from Gaza on Sunday morning.
