"With the assistance of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, evidence was obtained of the involvement of a resident of the Stavropol Territory Bagaudin Kuvanaev in an armed rebellion and encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers and military personnel," the UK said.

It is noted that at the request of the investigation, the court arrested Kuvanaev.

He will be charged shortly.

According to the investigation, in the period from August 7, 1999 to August 24, 1999, he, acting as part of the gang of Basayev and Khattab, participated in the attack on the Botlikh district of Dagestan, as a result of which 33 people died and 34 were injured.

In March, a court sentenced two residents of the Stavropol Territory, found guilty of an attack on servicemen in Dagestan in 1999, to 13 and 14 years in prison.
