Ingolstadt (dpa) - Fans of the third division FC Hansa Rostock who traveled with them celebrated the important away win of their team at SpVgg Unterhaching on the A9 near Ingolstadt - and thus caused traffic chaos.

On the return journey on Saturday, about 30 vehicles accompanied their team's bus, the police said.

At the Hollendau motorway triangle in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district, the fans slowed down the traffic and blocked all three lanes for a few minutes.

Several fans, including those who were drunk, left their cars and celebrated on the lane, waving flags and setting fire to Bengalos.

Hansa had previously won 1-0 against Unterhaching - and is now on the verge of promotion to the second division.

Finally, a large police force with more than 200 emergency services was able to identify several vehicles involved and check those involved.

The officers established the personal details of 17 people.

Investigations into dangerous traffic and breaches of the peace were initiated.

In addition, violations of the Weapons and Explosives Act as well as the Infection Protection Act and the Narcotics Act were found.

It was only by chance that nobody was injured by the blockade.

There was also no property damage.
