The president of the LREM group in the National Assembly, Christophe Castaner, defended Sunday a "consistency" of his party in the Paca region for the regional in order to "unite" in the face of the "risk RN", reproaching the Republicans for being " ready to sacrifice this region ".
"If we do nothing we are going straight into the wall in this region and the National Rally can win it," Castaner said on LCI / RTL / Le Figaro.
Fifteen presidential majority candidates will finally be present on the list led by Renaud Muselier (LR) after several days of confusion and despite the opposition of several LR officials.
"As far as we are concerned, there is consistency, I have been holding out my hand for weeks (...) on the other hand I saw on the side of LR a violence which is nevertheless quite crazy which puts the Front on the same level. national and Emmanuel Macron and LREM, "said Christophe Castaner.
"We are talking about a risk of election of the National Front and they do not care, they are ready to sacrifice this region, we are not," he continued.
"There has been no clear idea at LR for several years", further lambasted Mr. Castaner.
Asked about the Hauts-de-France region, where Xavier Bertrand said that "there will be no agreement with LREM" including in the second round, Christophe Castaner believes that the outgoing president of the region "is already in the 3rd round, the 3rd round is to leave Hauts-de-France "with the objective of the presidential election of 2022.
The leader of the LREM deputies reiterated that the engagement of the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti in the Pas-de-Calais aims to "fight Marine Le Pen, the National Front, not Xavier Bertrand".
"But Xavier Bertrand is an opponent in this regional election, he wants it too, he is leading this fight with a national goal," he added.
