Local media reported that a Myanmar poet, who had been working against the Myanmar military, was burned alive.

According to Now in Myanmar on the 16th, a poet Sain Yun was killed in the afternoon of the 14th in Monywa, Sagaing.

Taing Aung, Wyn's friend and witness to the incident, told the media, "I was talking with Wyn at my house on the morning of the 14th, and someone suddenly came and poured gasoline over his head and set it on fire."

Wyn was immediately taken to sleep-yuwa hospital, but he suffered severe burns all over his body and died at around 11 o'clock that night.

Local media reported that Yun was a longtime supporter of the democratic national alliance established by state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi and has been active in politics since the time of the 1998 democratization movement.

After the coup in February, Myanmar Now explained that he has maintained close ties with the young demonstrator leaders by participating in street protests of the rebels in Monywa.

The motive for this incident is still unknown and the identity of the person who committed the crime has been revealed, but the police have not caught it until yesterday.

In Monywa, where street protests by the rebels continued after the coup, at least nine citizens were killed after the coup.

Among them, the poets Kja-Win and Chi Lin Ai were killed in shootings in March, and the poet Ket Tie was recently taken to the military police and returned to the carcass with their organs removed.
