Dresden (dpa / sn) - The AfD in Saxony has warned of an even earlier exit from lignite.

«The phase-out of coal in 2038 will make Lusatia the poor house of Saxony.

Tens of thousands of well-paid jobs will disappear and many locals will be forced to emigrate, "said Jan Zwerg, parliamentary director of the AfD in the Saxon state parliament, on Sunday.

An even earlier date would be "highly irresponsible".

From Zwerg's point of view, the federal government can only achieve its climate goals if thousands of wind turbines are built close to homes and in the forest.

Serious damage to nature and the health of residents would be accepted.

Furthermore, in the opinion of the AfD politician, the citizens are concealed from exorbitant costs.

Not only gasoline and energy prices would rise significantly.

Companies would lose their competitiveness and move jobs and added value abroad.
