Tracing the source: photography training caused this round of epidemic

"In order to effectively carry out the prevention and control of the epidemic, we have been tracking the source, starting with the first three infected persons, Zhang Moumou, Li Moumou, and Lu Mou, to clarify the transmission chain." Deputy Director of Anhui Provincial Health Commission, Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Director of the Administration Bureau Dong Mingpei said that all the infections were caused by photography training activities, concentrated in the photo studio in Yu'an District of Lu'an City and the hotel in Feixi County.

After verification, Zhang Moumou is a native of Yu'an District, and has never been out of Anhui Province since April; Li Moumou and Lu Moumou both came to Anhui temporarily to carry out photography training business personnel, Li Moumou self-employed on May 1st From Dalian to Yu'an District, Lu'an City, training was held in the photo studio from May 2nd to 8th, and started to feel unwell on the 5th; Lu Mou went through Beijing from Yingkou on May 9th to a hotel in Feixi County on the 11th Training was carried out, and the test was positive on the 13th.

Zhang Moumou had close contact with Li Moumou during his training in the Moumou photo studio.

Nucleic acid for all employees: more than 1.2 million people have been sampled

After the outbreak, Lu'an and Hefei immediately launched emergency plans for the control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and quickly carried out nucleic acid testing for all employees in specific areas.

As of 12:00 noon on the 16th, nucleic acid samples in Lu’an City had been sampled by 1,046,372, and 966,622 had been obtained. Except for the confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections reported above, all others were negative. Nucleic acid samples in Hefei had been sampled by 169,855. The results were 169,781; except for the confirmed cases reported above, all others were negative.

Dong Mingpei said that all the infected people are currently concentrated in Yu'an District and Feixi County.

Experts have judged that the possibility of the large-scale spread of the epidemic has basically been ruled out.

"Patient Zero": Preliminary study and judgment of non-Anhui cases

According to Li and Lu, during the training period in Yingkou City from April 27 to April 30, some trainees developed cold, cough and other symptoms. Lu also felt unwell and went to a small clinic for infusion.

According to Dong Mingpei, on the 15th and 16th, Wu Zunyou, the chief expert of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Jiang Qingwu, the former dean of the School of Public Health of Fudan University, analyzed from the time of onset of the existing cases and the information currently released. Cases are detected first, but in this round of the epidemic in China, some local cases appeared earlier than those in Lu'an. Judging from the existing epidemiological transmission relationship, the cases in Lu'an were caused by the spread of cases from other places.

Experts judged that Li and Lu may still not be "patient zero" in this round of the epidemic.

Scientific traceability: non-Indian and other epidemic variants

For scientific tracing, the Anhui Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention performed genetic sequencing on patient specimens, and found no mutation sites that caused high pathogenicity and high infectiousness. It does not belong to the highly infectious mutant strains currently prevalent in India and South Africa.

Dong Mingpei said: "The traceability of the epidemic is still in progress. Under the guidance of the Expert Working Group of Joint Prevention and Control of the State Council, we will cooperate with other regions to jointly do a good job in traceability and handling of the epidemic." (End)
