China Disease Control Expert Wu Zunyou: The source of the local epidemic is likely to begin in Yingkou, Liaoning

After 22 days of no new local cases across the country, Anhui and Liaoning have successively seen local confirmed cases.

On the evening of May 15, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said in an interview with The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) that although the first confirmed case of the local epidemic came from Lu'an, Anhui, the epidemic The source is likely to spread from Yingkou, Liaoning.

On May 13, Lu'an City, Anhui Province, performed a routine nucleic acid test on a patient who went to the hospital and found a confirmed case.

Two days later, confirmed cases were discovered in Anhui and Liaoning one after another.

As of 20 o'clock on May 15th, Lu'an City, Anhui Province, had reported a total of 3 local confirmed cases, 7 cases of asymptomatic infection, and 2 confirmed cases in Hefei, Anhui.

As of 19:00 on the 15th, 5 new confirmed cases and 8 local asymptomatic infections had been added in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province.

In addition, on the evening of the 15th, Shenyang, Liaoning, also reported a new local case. The case went to Yingkou Bayuquan during the May Day holiday.

Judging from the current circulating information, the confirmed cases reported in Yingkou, Liaoning, are all close contacts of reported cases Li and Lu in Anhui, and are related to a golden childhood photography base.

Where did the virus come from?

It is very important to understand the transmission chain. Wu Zunyou judged the source of the spread of the epidemic based on geographic location and time of onset.

"The new epidemics in my country are imported from abroad, people or things." Wu Zunyou told The Paper that although the first confirmed case of the local epidemic came from Lu'an, Anhui, Anhui is an inland province, and it may be imported directly from abroad. It is not very sexual, and Yingkou is in Liaoning. Last year, there were a number of local transmission epidemics caused by overseas imports in the province.

In addition, Wu Zunyou believes that from the time of onset of the existing cases, the currently published information suggests that although the case was first detected in Lu'an, Anhui, the Yingkou case appeared earlier than the case in Lu'an, Anhui. This is based on the existing epidemiological transmission relationship. Look, the Lu'an case was caused by the spread of the Yingkou case.
