Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The chairman of the Brandenburg SPD parliamentary group, Erik Stohn, sees the anti-Israeli demonstrations in Germany with great concern.

Unfortunately, they are more than expressions of political opinion, Stohn said on Saturday.

"Anyone who attacks synagogues, burns Israeli flags and insults Jews is acting anti-Semitically," he said.

"We will never tolerate anti-Semitic behavior."

Jewish life belongs in the middle of society.

To make this clear, Brandenburg should change its constitution right now and include the fight against anti-Semitism as a national goal.

There is no room for anti-Semitism in Brandenburg.

After the violent escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas, there were anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli demonstrations in several cities in Germany.
