According to the politician, the process against the head of the parliamentary party Viktor Medvedchuk in Kiev is being conducted “under a far-fetched pretext”.

On May 11, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine announced that Medvedchuk and his associate Taras Kozak were suspected of high treason and plundering of national resources in Crimea.

On May 13, a court in Kiev sent Medvedchuk under house arrest until July 9 inclusive. The politician himself called the charges against him politically motivated.
