Ravensburg (dpa / lsw) - Specialists in height operations by the police have ended illegal tree occupation by climate activists in Ravensburg and took three demonstrators into custody.

The police said that it is now being checked which criminal offenses and administrative offenses are present.

During the operation on Saturday evening, the fire brigade helped with a turntable ladder.

The eviction went without any problems.

During the night, climate activists had stretched three ropes across a street. "A banner was attached to two ropes, and the activists repeatedly crossed the street back and forth on the third rope and sometimes hung themselves in hammocks over the road," reported the police. For security reasons, she then closed the street. The officers also confiscated logs, pallets and other building materials that were probably intended for a tree house.

During the day, about ten supporters of the activists sat down on the road.

Several dozen police officers were on duty to carry the participants off the street after they ignored dismissals despite repeated requests.

Administrative offense proceedings were initiated against all those involved.

In addition, it will be checked whether criminal offenses of coercion have also been fulfilled.

Again and again, young climate activists demonstrate in Ravensburg with tree occupations.

Sometimes it's about criticism of the government's climate policy, sometimes about permanently running heaters in the lecture halls of the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences.

On Tuesday, a professor from the university had supported them - also from the tree.
