Flensburg (dpa / lno) - During actions against violence in the Middle East, a man in Flensburg was briefly taken into police custody.

The 23-year-old, who is believed to have come from a pro-Palestinian demonstration, tried to snatch an Israeli flag from another person, the police said on Saturday.

Both fell to the ground and the emergency services intervened.

Investigations were therefore initiated against the young man.

There were two demonstrations in the center of the city - an action by the Palestinian Association of Flensburg with around 100 participants and a rally against anti-Semitism with around 20 people.

The person attacked is said to be the person who registered the smaller demonstration.

The ship's bridge was temporarily closed and there were traffic disruptions.

After the attack, the police said they moved more towards the bridge to prevent further incidents.
