Göttingen (dpa / lni) - Several climate activists from the Extinction Rebellion group caused significant traffic obstructions on Saturday in Göttingen with individual seat blockades on the streets.

Some of them were taken into custody because they failed to comply with evictions, the police said.

The activists had sat down one by one on several main roads and intersections and brought the traffic to a standstill with the blockade.

The police had to carry some of them away.

An activist stuck to the street, according to the organizers.

The campaign wanted to express the fear of the climate crisis and the coming end of the natural foundations of life.
