Berlin (AP) - The designated third division soccer team Viktoria 89 was the last club to reach the semifinals in the Berlin State Cup.

In the only quarter-final match, Viktoria coach Benedetto Muzzicato's team defeated Tennis Borussia 3-0 (0-0) in the Lichterfelde stadium on Saturday and is set to face BFC Dynamo in the semifinals on Saturday.

In the second semifinals, the BAK and the VSG Altglienicke want to move into the final, which is to be played on May 29th as part of the “Amateurs final day”.

However, a Berlin top division has appealed against the host mode.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it had been decided with all 32 remaining clubs that the five regional league teams would conclude the competition so that a Berlin representative could place a participant in the first round of the DFB Cup in the coming season.

A final decision must be made by next Friday.

In the first competitive game after an almost seven-month break, the hosts, who had won all of their eleven games in the season that was canceled, had most of the game in the first half, but only had one big chance through Pardis Fardjad-Azard (34th).

After the break, TeBe was initially more active, while Viktoria was more successful.

Moritz Seifert completed a nicely played combination for the lead in the 59th minute.

Five minutes later, Mattis Daube made a preliminary decision.

Shortly before the final whistle, Shalva Ogbaidze hit after a counterattack.
