May 15, 2021 There are 26,485,202 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 administered in Italy, 89.5% of the total delivered, which are so far 29,588,060: in detail 19,988,280 Pfizer / BioNTech, 2,588,100 Moderna, 6,668,880 Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) and 342,800 Janssen (J&J). 14,877,599 women and 11,607,603 men were vaccinated. This is what we read in the

online report of the extraordinary Commissioner for the health emergency

updated at 07.14 today.

People immunized with both doses are 8,282,366 (13.98% of the population).

In detail, the main administration points are 2,557 (including hospital and territorial administration points; temporary administration points are not included). The categories that have been vaccinated are divided as follows: 6,763,142 over 80, 5,241,322 frail subjects and caregivers, 3,367,525 health and social health workers, 944,150 non-health personnel employed in health facilities and in work at risk, 682,137 guests Facilities Residential, 4,089,924 age group 70-79, 2,642,444 age bracket 60-69, 1,336,497 school staff, 400,998 Defense and Security sector and 1,017,063 other categories.

Vaccinations are going on with most of the regions that have opened reservations for forty-year-olds and Lombardy announcing the start of those for children between 16 and 29 for June 2.

For the Director of Prevention of the Ministry of Health, Gianni Rezza, "you need to get vaccinated as much as possible, quickly and with every available vaccine". "Accelerating the campaign serves to limit the circulation of variants. The challenge is to vaccinate even the young age groups as soon as possible", underlines Rezza. Who insists that extending the second dose of Pfizer to 42 days "does not change the effectiveness of the vaccine."

The Covid-19 emergency commissioner, Francesco Paolo Figliuolo returns to put the emphasis on over eighty, 77% vaccinated. In June, defined by Figliuolo as the "turning point month", however, deliveries will still increase, from 17 to 25 million, and the numbers of inoculations, with the support of family doctors and pharmacists. Vaccines in the workplace are not far off.

The Reithera case

Meanwhile, the Court of Auditors has blocked funding for phase 3 of the tests on the Italian Reithera vaccine. "We await the motivation", Mise sources explain, underlining that in the meantime the production plan goes ahead.

The schedule of vaccinations

After the invitation of the Covid-19 emergency commissioner, Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, to open to the 40-49 year-old range from Monday, Veneto is ahead of its time and left today at 16, Campania will give the green light to 45-49 year-olds from tomorrow and for the 40-44 range from next Tuesday, while Lombardy has set a calendar which, based on the supply program, provides for the start of pre-accessions for 40-year-olds from 20 May with the first inoculations at the beginning of June, 30-year-olds seven days later and on 2 June the opening of the adhesions for the 16-29 age group Meanwhile, Lazio has requested another 100 thousand doses of Astrazeneca, among those unused in other Regions. From this point of view, the idea is of a balancing at the national level.

The goal, set by the coordinator of the vaccination campaign in Lombardy, Guido Bertolaso, is to allow all Lombards to leave for the holidays with at least the first dose. "Now it would take more doses to conclude this vaccination campaign. I hope that the flood of doses will happen", underlines the governor, Attilio Fontana. "There was only a negligible refusal of the vaccine, because all the Lombards have open wounds", he underlines. Then claiming, after the false start, the role of Lombardy in achieving the national target.

The 'Green Pass'

The CTS is studying the validity times of the so-called 'Green pass', now set at six months, and which will soon be extended in Italy.

Vaccination in the workplace

"With the document containing the indications for vaccination in the workplace transmitted to the Regions, we are ready to start the vaccination campaign, together with the availability of doses. It will be a network that joins the one used up to now", announces the Minister of Labor , Andrea Orlando.
