Willich (dpa / lnw) - A drunk 19-year-old used a manhole cover in Willich in the Viersen district to break into a gas station and steal cigarettes.
As the police announced on Saturday, residents heard the clink of glass during the night.
A little later it turned out that the young man had broken the entrance door to the gas station.
He initially fled, but was picked up by the police shortly afterwards.
The alleged perpetrator had several packets of cigarettes with him, it was said.
A blood sample was taken from him at the police station.
