Kiel (dpa / lno) - ten different demonstrations and rallies were announced on Saturday for the area of downtown Kiel.

A spokesman for the Kiel Police Department announced that three of the demonstrations were part of the so-called lateral thinker scene, and three others were counter-demonstrations from the left-wing scene.

In addition, a drag walk, a Kurdish protest against the attack by Turkish militias, a demonstration in solidarity with Israel and an event against the criminality of abortion are planned.

Different routes and times were coordinated in advance for the events in order to minimize traffic obstructions and prevent the demonstrators from meeting.

At lunchtime, the situation on the demonstrations that had already started was calm and manageable, according to the police.

Two other rallies that had originally been registered were canceled at short notice early Saturday morning.
