Kassel (dpa / lhe) - The Kassel Huskies have won the first final for promotion to the German Ice Hockey League.
At the start of the final series "best of five" in the DEL2, the Hessians came on Friday evening in their own hall to a 2: 1 (1: 0, 0: 0, 1: 1) against the Bietigheim Steelers.
Joel Keussen in the 13th minute and Vincent Saponari (41st) scored the Huskies goals.
Benjamin Zientek (60th) only managed to hit the goal for the guests shortly before the end.
On Sunday, Kassel has to play the second game in Bietigheim.
