May 15, 2021 Beaches open in most regions and Italy is preparing to become all 'yellow' from Monday, except for the Aosta valley which will remain orange. And from tomorrow, those arriving in Italy from the countries of the European Union, but also from Great Britain and Israel, will not have the obligation to quarantine. At this rate, according to the president of the ISS, Silvio Brusaferro, it will be possible to "progressively overcome the curfew".

With the now constant decline of the pandemic curve, with less than ten thousand new cases, comes the first easing of the measures for those entering the Italian territory. From Sunday, in fact, the ordinance of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, will come into force, which eliminates the mini-quarantine for those arriving from the European Union, but also from the territories of the Schengen area, from Great Britain and Israel. A small step on the reopening front, to which, starting tomorrow, the return to the beach will be added.

Today the bathing season starts in most regions

In fact, the new bathing season officially opens in most of the Italian regions. Waiting, then, for a breezy extension of the validity of the vaccination certificate, the debate on curfews and masks is growing more and more. Topics that will be at the center of the control room on Monday where, in all likelihood, the go-ahead will come to the postponement at 11pm of the obligation to stay at home. And, again on Monday, Italy will turn yellow entirely, with the exception of the Valle d'Aosta which will still remain in orange, even if the bar dehors will reopen until 6 pm.

Today the outdoor pools reopen but, above all, the new bathing season will kick off, anticipated today by the 'sea' of over 25,000 umbrellas open simultaneously on the coasts of Friuli Venezia Giulia. A desire for summer which, according to a survey by Swg and Confturismo, has already led 9 million Italians to have booked when and where to go on vacation. However, under the lens of consumer associations there will be the prices of sunbeds and umbrellas that could be 'inflated' to make up for lost revenue. On the other hand, the wait for May 17th seems to be greater.

On Monday, in fact, the postponement of the curfew should be officially launched during the control room, a theme ridden on several occasions, in particular, by Lega and Fratelli d'Italia. "I believe that progressively the idea is to get over it", announced the president of the Higher Institute of Health, Silvio Brusaferro, without specifying the times and methods.

Another topic of discussion is that related to the obligation of masks. "Indoors the mask should remain even after, for a long time", the opinion of the Undersecretary of Health Pierpaolo Sileri who, in recent days, had hypothesized the farewell to the protections once the 30 million vaccinated people were reached. Andrea Crisanti opens up to the possibility of removing the masks outdoors, according to whom a decision can be evaluated in "a couple of weeks". Finally, comes from the Genoese infectious disease specialist Matteo Bassetti, the invitation to the government to remove the obligation of the mask "after 20 days from the first dose of the vaccine".

And it is precisely on the vaccine front that the Scientific Technical Committee could launch the next novelty, that of extending the validity of the green pass beyond the foreseen 6 months. Indications in this sense were given by the governor of Liguria, Giovanni Toti. "The minister (Speranza, ed) met with the National Order of Doctors - he said - to which he assured that in the next provisions of the law it will be extended by at least three months".
