The Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip continued to fire rounds of rockets towards Israel targeting cities and two military bases, while the occupation army intensified its bombardment of the Gaza Strip from the land, the air and the sea, the site of 7 new martyrs.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades - the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - said that it bombed the cities of Sderot, Beersheba, Ashkelon, Jan Yavni, and the "Ra'eem" and "Hatzerim" bases with bursts of rockets.

The Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the Israeli missile defense system - known as the Iron Dome - responded to a new batch of resistance missiles launched from Gaza.

Meanwhile, Al-Qassam Brigades broadcast video clips of launching rockets at Israeli sites from the Gaza Strip, and said, "We bombed Beer Sheba in retaliation for the martyrs of the West Bank and in response to targeting civilians in the northern Gaza Strip."

The Al-Qassam Brigades announced that it had targeted a chemical plant in the town of Nir Oz with a Shehab drone, and the Israeli army announced that it had shot down a drone that launched from the Gaza Strip.

Earlier Friday, the Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that electricity had been cut off in some Israeli towns on the outskirts of Beersheba, after electricity poles were hit by missile strikes.

The Israeli army said that more than two thousand rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel since the beginning of the last aggression on Gaza. The Iron Dome system intercepted about half of it, while 350 rockets fell inside the Gaza Strip, according to the account of the occupation army.

In the context, the Ben Gurion Airport administration announced the transfer of flights to Ramon Airport in the Negev until next Sunday, due to the continued firing of rockets from Gaza.

Heavy bombing

The occupation army continued its violent bombardment by land with artillery, by air by fighter jets, and by sea via boats, targeting vital and residential areas in the northern Gaza Strip.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that 7 martyrs, including children, were killed in the bombing of a house in Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza, and that rescue operations are continuing, as a result of the bombing of the camp with more than 5 rockets fired by Israeli fighters.

Prior to that, the Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the Israeli gunboats destroyed a number of rest houses on the Gaza beach, while the Israeli army announced the targeting of an Islamic Jihad activist working in the field of anti-tank missiles.

The Israeli army also announced that it had bombed the office of the director of internal security in Hamas, Tawfiq Abu Naim, and added in a tweet, "We bombed his office, which he used to command and control the military infrastructure."

Israeli Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi said that the Israeli airstrikes caused great damage to the weapons manufacturing system of Hamas and Jihad.

The death toll

And the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Friday evening that the number of victims of the Israeli raids had risen to 126, including 31 children and 20 women, and stated that the number of injuries had also risen to 950.

On the other hand, the occupation authorities said that the death toll in Israel reached 7, including a soldier who was patrolling the Gaza border and 6 Israeli civilians, including two children.

Tunnel targeting

Earlier on Friday, Israel rained down on the Gaza Strip with a barrage of artillery shells and aerial bombardment, and said it targeted a network of tunnels for the Palestinian resistance, in an attempt to stop missile attacks on Israeli cities and towns.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in Gaza, Wael al-Dahdouh, said that the occupation aircraft bombed the headquarters of the Bank of Production in western Gaza, which is located only tens of meters from the Shifa Medical Complex, the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip, and that some buildings adjacent to the hospital were damaged.

He pointed out that the Israeli warplanes previously destroyed several branches of this bank across Gaza, and today they destroyed the main headquarters, which represents a continuation of the economic war on the Strip under the pretext that these banks support Hamas and contribute to its steadfastness.

In another development, a commander in the Joint Chamber of the Resistance said that the latter thwarted last night a deceptive maneuver for the occupation army, through which it tried to delude the start of a ground campaign.

He added that the occupation's maneuver was aimed at killing hundreds of resistance fighters and paralyzing their capabilities, and stressed that the resistance elements and their capabilities were not compromised by this deceptive operation.

Mortar bombing

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades (the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement) said that they bombed the city of Tel Aviv with a number of rockets, and that they targeted the Karm Abu Salem military site with a number of mortar shells.

For its part, the Nasser Salah El-Din Brigades stated that they bombed the settlement of Nir Ishaq (east of Rafah) with 3 Type 107 missiles.

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that 5 Israelis were injured in the city of Petah Tikva (east of Tel Aviv), after it was hit by rockets from Gaza.

Israeli media published scenes showing direct hits to a house and a car, in addition to the sound of sirens in the area.

Reuters said the owners of crude oil tankers had requested to shift away from Ashkelon to the Haifa port due to the escalation.

The occupation army demanded on Friday dawn of the residents of the towns around the Gaza Strip to "stay in safe areas until further notice."

Losses and damage

The violent Israeli bombardment destroyed and vandalized a large number of shops, in addition to damage to the electricity networks, which led to them being cut off from the Al-Rimal neighborhood (west of Gaza City).

The Government Information Department in Gaza said that "the occupation army bombed 60 government headquarters and destroyed more than 500 housing units completely."

The department added - in a statement - that the initial estimates of losses as a result of the aggression on Gaza amounted to 73 million dollars.

For its part, the Jabalia municipality in the Gaza Strip announced that water and sanitation services had been cut off from about 10 thousand homes as a result of the aggression launched by Israeli fighter jets yesterday, Thursday, in the northern Gaza Strip.

On the humanitarian level, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip announced that it is urgently converting its equipped schools into shelters for Palestinians who sought refuge in them in search of shelter and safe haven as a result of the violent Israeli bombardment on their homes.

Since April 13, the situation in the Palestinian territories has exploded as a result of brutal attacks perpetrated by the occupation police and settlers in Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its environs, and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, following Israeli attempts to evacuate 12 Palestinian families and hand them over to settlers.
