Many French people took advantage of the Ascension long weekend to reconnect with tourism.

In Sologne, wine lovers have taken the vineyard route to taste again the wines of local producers.

To the delight of the winegrowers.

REPORTAGE

For Laurence and Michel, it was a first opportunity to reconnect with activities that confinement had almost made them forget.

For this long Ascension weekend, head to the Domaine de Huards, in Sologne, to taste local wines a stone's throw from the vineyards.

"We took advantage of the deconfinement to escape Paris. We are wine lovers so we like to go to the winemaker", they tell the microphone of Europe 1.

"We are happy to see our customers again"

At the next table, a bunch of friends gather around one or more glasses of wine.

"There are those who spit and those who don't. I don't spit," smiles an amateur.

Behind the counter, the phone keeps ringing.

"It's like coming back to life. It's good to be able to welcome so many people again. The exchange is essential, both for us and for the customers. It's a great pleasure", explains Marion, in charge of welcoming customers.

Same story with Alexandre Gendrier, manager of the estate. "We are very happy to see individuals again to explain our work. We make our wines as we like them, but it's always good to verify that they are liked by the customers." With their arms full of cash, customers are sending a pretty clear message.
