The Paris Bourse ended the week sharply up 1.54%, benefiting Friday from the rebound in Wall Street and renewed investor confidence.

The flagship CAC 40 index took 96.81 points to 6,385.14 points.

The day before, the Parisian rating had closed slightly up 0.14%.

This weekend rebound erases the losses of the first sessions: the CAC 40 has lost 0.01% since Monday.

"The market is repositioning itself after a fairly volatile week," observes Frédéric Rozier, portfolio manager of Mirabaud France.

On Tuesday, world markets had plunged into the red after the publication of a rise in producer prices in China, and before the publication of price indices in the United States, which turned out to be higher than expected.

Friday, several indicators reassured investors and "removed the specter of an overheating economy", ensuring that the markets can still "count on central banks to support the recovery", according to Mr. Rozier.

Retail sales in the United States were flat in April compared with March, when Americans consumed heavily thanks to government aid, when analysts expected a 1.8% increase.

Consumer confidence in the United States deteriorated in May, contrary to analysts' expectations, due to the high inflation expected in the coming months, which raises fears for purchasing power.

Industrial production in the United States rose 0.7% in April, in line with analysts' expectations, according to data released by the Fed.

No overheating of the economy means less risk of high and lasting inflation and therefore continuation of the ultra-accommodative monetary policy of the central banks.

The European Central Bank (ECB) also published the minutes of its meeting at the end of April on Friday, in which central bankers agree not to react too quickly to the rise in inflation.

The Airbus title took 3.72% to 99.57 euros.

The Biden administration assured Thursday that it was doing everything possible to find an agreement by July to end the old dispute between the United States and the European Union over illegal subsidies granted to aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing.

The title of the French railway manufacturer Alstom rose 2.76% to 44.35 euros, carried by a contract with Ukraine announced Thursday.

Air France also gained 3.64% to 4.62 euros.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield stock rose 3.74% to 69.95 euros, wiping out its losses the day before following the approval by the shareholders of the shopping center giant not to pay dividends under the fiscal year 2020, nor for the next two years.

The two French water and waste giants are due to seal the agreement on Friday which will see Veolia (+ 1.87% to 26.10 euros) get their hands on a good part of Suez (-0.18% at 19, 94 euros), essentially reduced to its French activities.
