"According to the order of the Russian government dated May 13 this year, issued in pursuance of the said decree, American diplomatic missions are now prohibited from hiring individuals located in the territory of the Russian Federation," she said in a statement.
As Zakharova noted, taking into account the fact that this measure will take time, the Russian Foreign Ministry expects that the US embassy and consular offices will bring the composition of their personnel in accordance with the specified requirements no later than August 1.
She added that the American side "is regularly provided with the necessary explanations, leaving no room for any misunderstandings."
“This issue has been closed completely and irrevocably,” Zakharova said.
On May 14, the Russian government approved the list of unfriendly foreign states.
The list includes two states: the United States and the Czech Republic.
According to the text, the Czech Republic will be able to hire a maximum of 19 workers from among the Russians in its diplomatic mission, the United States - none.
