January offered significantly more precipitation than normal in Västerbotten.
Two heavy snowstorms caused several places to receive twice as much precipitation, and some even three times as much, as during a normal year.
Stable temperatures and cold nights have meant that the snow still remains in several places, but now it looks like it will disappear.
- We will get a lot of rain in the near future and it will be warmer at night, then the snow melts quickly, says SVT's meteorologist Nitzan Cohen.
The first half of May has also started colder than normal for Västerbotten and many are now waiting for the heat.
