It was at 2 pm on Friday that the police received an alarm about a traffic accident south of Norway.

- These are two cars that have collided head-on, says Patric Fors, the police's press spokesperson.

The road was closed

Two people were involved in the accident and were reported injured.

Both were taken by ambulance to hospital.

Region Skåne stated that a man in his 30s was taken to Kristianstad Central Hospital and received care for life-threatening injuries.

Another man, who is in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and has been taken to Blekinge Hospital in Karlskrona for treatment.

Died in hospital

At around 5 pm, the police announced that the man who was taken to Kristianstad Central Hospital had died as a result of his injuries.

The man's relatives have been notified of the death.

The police state that the accident will be investigated and that they are ready on the spot.

The road past the accident site between Ysane and Norje was completely closed for over an hour but is now open again.
