Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - In view of the military conflict in Israel, the Lufthansa Group has canceled further flights to the region.

A group spokesman in Frankfurt said on Friday that there will be no scheduled flights by the airlines Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian to Tel Aviv up to and including Monday.

The program is expected to resume from Tuesday.

Initially, the flights were only suspended up to and including Friday.

The Lufthansa Group usually flies 19 connections a week to Israel from its hubs.

The main brand Lufthansa accounts for 11 flight pairs.

Numerous other airlines have also canceled their connections because of the continued rocket attacks by Hamas and Israeli counter-attacks.
