None of this is going fast enough for the district of Ebersberg in the southeast of Munich. The authorities there have therefore started a joint vaccination pass project with the Magdeburg company "Alive". The vaccination data is not linked to the name, but to the respective identity card number. A QR code that is supposed to prove the vaccination status is only valid for 60 seconds and therefore cannot be copied. It is absolutely forgery-proof, said «Alive» managing director Martin Behmann - and completely uncomplicated. The app is available immediately and free of charge and has been coordinated with data protectionists and all relevant authorities. According to Behmann, his company began development in December 2020.
"The Ebersberg model is an interesting model," said Holetschek, but emphasized that Germany is relying on the digital vaccination pass, which is to be created under the leadership of the American technology group IBM.
