Dresden (AP) - In an unusual operation, the fire brigade in Dresden freed a two-year-old child from a children's toilet seat.

It had put the plastic seat over its head while playing on Wednesday, as the fire brigade announced on Friday.

Because the seat had slipped down to the child's neck, the parents could not free it themselves and dialed the emergency number.

The fire brigade split the seat and helped the child out of the emergency.

The use was unusual, but according to the fire brigade it is not an isolated case.

This year, the emergency services had to rescue several unlucky people from unfortunate situations: For example, a seven-year-old who was stuck with her head in the back of a chair and a young woman who was stuck in a children's swing in a playground.

Even a squirrel was saved.

It had fallen into a ten-meter-deep shaft from which the firefighters helped it out.
