Fürth (dpa / lby) - SpVgg Greuther Fürth has extended the loan period of full-back Luca Itter (22) by one year before the final spurt in the promotion of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Franconians have agreed on this with Bundesliga club SC Freiburg, as they announced on Friday.

U21 national player David Raum, who is currently the first line-up in the left defensive position at the “Kleeblatt”, will leave Fürth at the end of the season and move to the Bundesliga for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim free of charge.

«We brought Luca over to us last winter with this ulterior motive.

He now knows our processes, has done his job really well and also feels very much at home in the team, ”said Fürth's sports director Rachid Azzouzi, explaining the further loan from Itter.

In training and in the games he played, he "showed what he can do and that we can build on him," said coach Stefan Leitl.

Itter has seven missions.

He wanted to stay in Fürth, said the professional: "And now we will try to finish this season as successfully as possible."

The Fürth also extended the contracts with goalkeeper Leon Schaffran (until 2024) and defender Elias Kratzer (until 2023).
