Spahnharrenstätte (dpa / lni) - In Spahnharrenstätte (Emsland district), a fire in a carpenter's workshop caused damage of around 80,000 euros, according to initial estimates.

Two owners aged 50 and 73 suffered smoke poisoning from their own attempts to extinguish the fire on Thursday evening, a police spokesman said on Friday.

According to this, a machine in the carpentry shop caught fire for reasons that were initially unclear.

The fire department prevented the flames from spreading to an office building and a residential building.

The two injured men were taken to hospital for treatment.
